U.S. Secretary of State to visit Peru

Peruvian Ambassador based in Washington D.C. Oswaldo de Rivero
has confirmed the visit of
United States Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken
to Peru next October.
Last July, in
a message to mark Peru's 201st Anniversary of Independence
, Secretary Blinken noted that the strong partnership between the United States and Peru remains grounded in shared democratic values, respect for diversity, and equitable economic growth.
Likewise, he highlighted Peru's efforts to address the climate crisis and the promotion of labor rights.
During his visit, Blinken will be accompanied by
Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Brian A. Nichols
and
Interim Permanent Representative of the United States to the Organization of American States Thomas R. Hastings
.
Also joining the U.S. Secretary of State will be
Summit of the Americas National Coordinator Kevin O'Reilly
and
U.S. Department of State's Special Representative for Racial Equity and Justice Desirée Cormier Smith
.
