US Leader Barack Obama arrives in Peru

The President of the United States Barack Obama arrived in Lima on Friday night to participate in the 2016 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum Leaders' Summit this weekend.

Air Force One carrying Mr. Obama landed at Air Group 8 Military Complex in Callao at 10:00 PM (local time).  

Upon arrival, he was welcomed by Peru’s second Vice-President Mercedes Araoz and US Ambassador to Lima Brian A. Nichols.

During his stay in the Andean country, the Leader will hold a meeting with Peruvian counterpart Pedro Pablo Kuczynski.

Previously, Mr. Obama visited Greece and Germany. It must be noted Lima comprises his last international tour stop as US Commander-in-Chief before leaving office in January 2017.
