United States Ambassador to Peru Lisa Kenna participated in the opening of the photo exhibition titled "Un Año de la Invasión a Ucrania" (One Year since the Invasion of Ukraine) organized by the Ukrainian Embassy in the Peruvian capital, Lima.

The event relies on support from the European Union (UE) and the Place of Memory, Tolerance, and Inclusion (LUM) located in Lima's Miraflores district.

This exhibition addresses the consequences of Russia's invasion of Ukraine one year ago, in February 2022.

"The pain of this war can only be seen and felt, words cannot explain it, a war that every day continues to claim the lives of innocents, destroying cities, separating families, and forcing Ukrainians to seek refuge in other countries," said a release issued by the U.S. Embassy on Friday.

This exhibit, featuring images by international photographers, is for the benefit of victims of an unprovoked, unjustified, and brutal war that Russia launched against Ukraine 12 months ago, it concluded.

The exhibit will be open to the public until March 28.
