State-run channel TV Peru launched an international TV service to broadcast news, documentaries, as well as cultural, culinary, and tourism TV programs for almost 4 million Peruvians residing outside the Inca country.

As stated by President of National Radio and Television Institute of Peru (IRTP), Hugo Coya, Peruvian expatriates will be able to enjoy a 24-hour programming service produced by a Peruvian TV channel.

International broadcasts will be available first in U.S. cities with the greatest number of Peruvians like Miami, Los Angeles, New York, and New Jersey State.

The international service will be broadcast by different cable operators in the United States so as to ensure it reaches the target audience across the country.

"Afterwards, we will reach Spain, Italy and the rest of Europe. Also, we will gradually expand to different Latin American countries, mainly to our neighbors Chile and Argentina, where Peruvian communities are large," Coya told Andina news agency.

He went on to say the new service will open up business and tourism opportunities, plus attempts to keep Peruvian nationals updated with the latest information about their homeland.
