Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage Bernardo Roca Rey invited all Peruvians to follow the event “Machu Picchu, History and Homage to a Wonder of the World” live on television which starts at 18:00 hours.
He noted that we need to be “glued to the TV” watching this event, the most important one of the celebrations scheduled for the centennial anniversary of Machu Picchu.
The deputy minister went on to say that “it is the largest event produced in the country in the last years.”
Roca Rey visited yesterday the Inca citadel and watched part of the rehearsals for today’s main event.
“It is the most important and impressive event for which we have used the best and most important resources we have. There is no doubt that it will captivate everyone and it will be the most representative event of the last decades,” he said.
Moreover, Roca Rey noted that Machu Picchu is “the biggest star” of the evening. The 2 hour show will include the participation of several musicians and actors such as Tania Libertad, the Andean Orchestra, Cusco’s Symphony Orchestra and composer Manuel Miranda among others.
