Three Peruvian universities were included in the 14th QS World University Rankings 2018, a list comprising the world's best higher learning institutions.

The ranking indicates Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru (PUCP) has risen five bands, reaching the 431-440 category (from a previous 481-490 rank).

Thus, PUCP remains the country's leading university.

The other national universities are: Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia and Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, both of which rank in the 801-1000 category.

This year's edition —conducted by QS Quacquarelli Symonds, global education analysts— included 959 higher educational institutions from 84 countries.

.

Latin America's leading university is Argentina's Universidad de Buenos Aires, which has risen to its highest-ever position (75th).

Likewise, U.S. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has been named the world's leading university for a record sixth consecutive year.
