16:36 | Leicester, Jan. 21 (ANDINA).
Leicester City are the latest club to take a look at veteran Peruvian player Nolberto Solano since the former Newcastle United and Aston Villa midfielder has been training with the Foxes's first team squad.
The club's manager, Nigel Pearson, is monitoring the midfielder's match fitness in training, but is under no illusions about Solano's ability.
"He's got a lot of quality," said Pearson, who also coached Solano at Newcastle.
"He's someone and I know well. He'd be a good acquisition at this moment in time," said Pearson as quoted by Leicester City's official website.
The 35-year-old is available as a free agent after parting ways with Peruvian outfit Universitario de Deportes.
Having previously spent 10 productive years in England taking in spells at Newcastle, Aston Villa and West Ham, the South American winger was hoping to secure a return to his spiritual home.
League One side Colchester were the first to express an interest in his services, but a trial spell at the U's failed to produce a contract.
Solano then headed back to Newcastle, where he has taken in two previous stints, with Chris Hughton impressed by his fitness and attitude.
However, he is now on the move once more, with Championship promotion hopefuls Leicester taking the opportunity to run the rule over the talented playmaker.
