Dutch powerhouse PSV will be without highly-rated youngster Reimond Manco for two to three months due to injury. The Peruvian winger will undergo surgery on his right knee at the St. Anna Hospital in Geldrop on Wednesday.

Manco sustained the injury during PSV’s second pre-season friendly on 30 June. PSV's medical staff have made the decision that Manco needs surgery in order to fully recover from the problem, reported PSV official website.

The 18-year-old striker will be unavailable for at least two months after the surgery.

The youngster joined PSV from Alianza Lima in the summer of 2008, but has failed to make an impact at the Eindhoven side so far, only making two league appearances for PSV, goal.com reported.

The injury comes at a bad moment for Manco - new head coach Fred Rutten was reportedly ready to offer the attacker the chance to prove his worth during pre-season.

Reimond Manco will miss the start of the Eredivisie season and the UEFA Europa League campaign with PSV. Manco joined PSV in the 2008/09 season and spent last season on loan with Willem II.
