Prime Minister Luis Galarreta met with the Mayor of Metropolitan Lima, Renzo Reggiardo, to coordinate efforts regarding public security and strengthen joint operations with law enforcement through the Unified Command.
The purpose of the meeting is to restore peace of mind to the residents of Lima, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) stated on its social media channels.
“We are pooling our capabilities to confront crime and protect the families of Lima!” the post reads.
The meeting also addressed prevention and mitigation measures in response to rains associated with the El Niño phenomenon, with the aim of reducing risks and protecting the most vulnerable families in the capital.
“At the PCM, we are coordinating efforts and removing obstacles to action in order to strengthen the State’s response to crime and emergencies,” the institution noted.
Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima reported that, by order of the mayor, the municipal government will continue to work in coordination with state entities to protect the capital’s families.
Additionally, Prime Minister Luis Galarreta will lead a new session today of the High-Level Multisectoral Commission for the Restoration of Security and Public Order, which will be attended by the Prosecutor of the Nation, Tomás Aladino Gálvez.
