Peruvian Prime Minister Alberto Otarola called for reflecting on the need to work towards the unity and peace of the country on Wednesday as part of International Women's Day.

Moreover, the Cabinet chief extended greetings to all women in the country, highlighting their efforts and sacrifices in the fight to bring peace, tranquility and, above all, progress to their homes.

"I think that, on a special day like International Women's Day, we should reflect on the same perception about the need to work together towards the unity and peace of the country," Otarola stated.

The remarks were delivered upon his return from Canada, where he participated at the 2023 edition of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) —a mineral exploration and mining convention held in the city of Toronto.

According to the head of the Ministerial Cabinet, the aforementioned event has been important for Peru, as it has served to restore the confidence of foreign investors and relaunch its economy.

"Investors have accepted the position of the Government and President (Dina) Boluarte with good grace and have reiterated their intention to invest in the country," the high-ranking official told the press.

At PDAC 2023, Otarola highlighted Peru's investment opportunities and fiscal sustainability before leaders of the world's mining sector, who gathered at said event.

"Peru is a safe country for investment and offers great opportunities in mining and energy on a global scale. This is guaranteed by our country's macroeconomic fundamentals, which foreign investors can continue to trust," he said at a meeting with foreign investors, representatives of Canadian industries, among others.
