President Martin Vizcarra on Monday afternoon recognized the national athletes who won medals at the recent Odesur South American Games.
On the occasion, a symbolic check was handed over to the sportspeople that claimed 92 medals (22 gold, 29 silver, and 41 bronze) at the aforementioned event held in Cochabamba (Bolivia) on May 26-June 8
They will thus receive S/1.230 million (about US$376,953) from the Peruvian Government.
Monday's ceremony took place at Lima-based Government Palace. It also saw the presence of Education Minister Daniel Alfaro and Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD) Head Oscar Fernandez.
As is known, the Inca country will host the Lima 2019 Pan American Games.
