The
President of the Republic Pedro Castillo acknowledged the importance of the work of the Armed Forces in the development of the country on Tuesday as he supervised the military tactical operations training "Fortaleza 2022" carried out in Peru's northern Piura region.
"Allow me to recognize and assume this as a Government, so that we understand that the Armed Forces of Peru are not only an outstanding bastion. We must understand that behind the uniform there is a citizen. Peruvians need to give them recognition," he said in his speech.
Mr. Castillo emphasized that his Government has to make an effort so that the logistics and budget for the Armed Forces can meet the demands of their work.
"It is time for Peru to be up to scratch as other countries, because the Joint Command and the entire military body has the necessary experience and dedication for it," he expressed.
Likewise, the Head of State called on politicians and authorities from other branches of the Peruvian State to work together to move the country forward.
"I call on the political class and authorities to establish a joint political command to steer the destiny of the country within the framework of unity, following the example of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces," he said.
Finally, the dignitary remarked that, just as the Army demonstrates loyalty to the country, his Government will always be with those most in need.
"We cannot give in on what belongs to us and what is ours. Likewise, we cannot allow the resources of this country to go to other places, but we can make use of them for the benefit of the homeland and families that need more education and health care, instead," he added.
