on Friday inspected the operations of Trabaja Peru (Work, Peru) Program in Amazonas region.
On this occasion, the Head of State supervised the cleaning, maintenance and refurbishment activities linked to Pozo de Yanayacu Historical Monument in the city of Chachapoyas, where said temporary employment promotion program is being developed.
"What we are doing from the government (...) is to continue working in a decisive, honest, and clean way to show the country that we can govern well in a democracy, that we can and know how to listen to those who need it most," he expressed.
Likewise, the Head of State indicated that the Government expanded the
Trabaja Peru budget to benefit another 1,139 communities in the country's interior regions.
Moreover, the top official expressed that the program encourages local employment and fills beneficiaries with pride by allowing them to work in the maintenance of historic areas of vital importance.
President Sagasti was joined by Labor Minister Javier Palacios, who emphasized that the program is made up —for the most part— by women.
In addition, the statesman specified that to date 5,500 temporary jobs have been created in Amazonas, involving more than 50 districts in the region.
