President of Peru expresses strong rejection of subversive actions in VRAEM

The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte expressed strong rejection of subversive activities in Putis district of Huanta province (Ayacucho region), in the Valley of Apurimac, Ene, and Mantaro Rivers (VRAEM), which led to the deaths of four Army soldiers.

Likewise, the Head of State offered condolences to the relatives of the fallen soldiers.

"I extend my deepest condolences to the relatives of the four courageous members of the Army, who died in Putis, Ayacucho, during a confrontation with narco-terrorists," reads a message posted on the Presidency of the Republic's social media pages.

The dignitary rejected the subversive actions and reiterated her firm intention to achieve pacification of the country.

"We energetically reject subversive actions and reaffirm our firm intention to fight for the pacification of the country," she stated.

The Joint Command of the Armed Forces (CCFFAA) on Monday confirmed the death of four soldiers during the confrontation with a terrorist group in Putis district.

The event occurred early on Monday morning, when a law enforcement patrol was carrying out territorial control actions in this area of VRAEM.

The fatalities were identified as Army Lt. Michael Bazan Peche, Army NCO Amderson Arrigoila Huanaco, Army NCO Dani Cayahua Condori, and Army Sgt. Fermin Arroyo Guzman.

In addition, three other troops were injured: Police Lt. Col. David Fano Buitron, Army NCO Martin Mamani Llavila, and Army NCO Teodoro Morote Mendoza, who have been taken to the city's health center.
