The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo affirmed that his government has decided to hold Decentralized Councils of Ministers to open the doors of the State and timely solve the needs of the population and its authorities.

"It is not our fault that those traditional parties that had the opportunity to build the country, to lead it, did not decide to put in the effort to visit in person the most remote areas of Peru," Mr. Castillo emphasized.

"Today we have the opportunity to listen to civil society, leaders, parents, authorities," he said at the closing ceremony of the 12th Decentralized Council of Ministers held in Huanuco on Tuesday.

Speaking from Huanuco, and in the face of some criticism of this kind of meetings, the Head of State remarked that the doors of the State will change the reality of the peoples who were neglected for years.

"There is no place in the country where a mayor does not complain, ask for water and drainage, or raise their voice; for this reason, we have decided to bring Decentralized Councils of Ministers to regions," he pointed out.

The top dignitary noted that this type of meetings are appropriate spaces to listen to regional and local authorities, elicit their concerns, and address their demands in an intergovernmental manner.

"This is the space that we have found. Authorities have often knocked on the doors of government ministries and have come back without hope. Today, government ministers come to listen and attend to them," he stressed.

The Head of State also asked government ministries not to reject the projects presented by authorities, but on the contrary, to help get them on the road and improve the levels of public investment.

Finally, he expressed his gratitude for the high-quality dialogue, as well as for the participation of authorities and civil society representatives.
