In a conversation with a group of young people who gathered at Lima's Main Square on Tuesday night, President Jose Jeri stated that the nation needs stability and calm.

The Head of State added that the government already has appointed a Ministerial Cabinet relying on the qualities to tackle insecurity.

"Our country needs stability; it needs calm. We went through difficult times a couple of days ago. Today, the country deserves the opportunity to live thinking that the present and the future can be better," Jeri expressed.

In that regard, the top official called on people not to lose optimism in his administration, which, with determination and resolve, will fight public insecurity and help ensure stability.

"I respect the protest of sectors that have been neglected; I invite them to engage in dialogue, because the premise of this administration is dialogue, seeking agreements and minimal understandings," he asserted.

The top official stated that Peru deserves responsibility, faith, and not losing optimism in order to move forward.

"It is the historical responsibility we have today, to contribute to the country's stability and to ensure that we elect new authorities in April 2026," he asserted.

Ministerial Cabinet

The President also said that Peru has a newly sworn-in Cabinet that, through dialogue and during this transition period, is equipped to combat crime, manage the State, and hand over the government to the next elected president.

Regarding those who criticize the Cabinet, he stated that it is inevitable for there to be critical voices.

"It will be the management and actions of the entire Executive Branch that demonstrate that the Cabinet is competent, complementary, broadly representative, and contributes to the administration's main objective: defeating crime," he pointed out.
