Peruvian President Alan Garcia on Monday is to attend the inauguration of Lima’s Electric Train Line 1, a long awaited project by the people of Lima and that will start operating in October.

According to the presidential press office, the activity will start at 08:00 hours.

The head of state will be accompanied by Transport and Communications Minister Enrique Cornejo and executive director of the Autonomous Electric Train Authority (AATE), Oswald Placentia.

Also attending will be director of Odebrecht Peru Jorge Barata, chairman of Graña y Montero José Graña and director of the Lima Electric Train Consortium Agreement Carlos Nostre.

Later at 18:00 hours, President Garcia is to attend the exhibition of the remains of a pre-Inca temple found in the basement of the Government Palace.
