The
President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Thursday affirmed that Peru and Chile are linked by history and ties of friendship between the two brother nations.
Remarks were made
upon arrival in Chile, where he is scheduled to meet with the President-elect of said country, Gabriel Boric, who is set to be sworn in on March 11.
"Peru and Chile have many coincidences. We are linked by history, by the challenges in favor of our peoples, and by the joint response to pandemic challenges," he expressed.
Additionally, the Peruvian dignitary extended his best wishes to Boric for a successful term in office in favor of the Chilean people.
The Air Force plane carrying the Head of State arrived at Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport around noon.
Later today, the top official is scheduled to meet with Gabriel Boric at the Municipality of Santiago.
Mr. Castillo's official activities in Chile will include a meeting with Ecuadorian counterpart Guillermo Lasso at Sheraton Tower.
Likewise, the Head of State is scheduled to meet with the Peruvian community in Santiago, also at Sheraton Tower.
