Presidency of the Republic pays tribute to all mothers in Peru on Mother's Day

The Presidency of Peru shared a special message on Mother's Day to all mothers across the country who are actively engaged with their role on a daily basis.

The message accompanies a video that was disseminated on social media. In the video, the President of the Republic Pedro Castillo is seen delivering remarks on the occasion of Mother's Day.

The Head of State remarked that Mother's Day in Peru is a very important day for all.

"I want to convey my greetings and fraternal embrace to all mothers in the country," he stated.

Additionally, the Presidency of the Republic wished all mothers a happy day "for their unconditional love, courage, effort and perseverance, care, dedication, for being the foundation of families, and for never losing faith."

According to the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI), there are 8,777,612 mothers in Peru, who account for 64.4% of the female population in the country.

Mother's Day in Peru is celebrated on the second Sunday of May every year.
