Ambassador Luis Chuquihuara Chil presented to His Holiness Pope Francis the credential letters that accredit him as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Peru to the Holy See, in Rome, conveying to him the greetings of the South American nation.
At this meeting, the Holy Father and the diplomat discussed the relations between Peru and the Vatican.
Moreover, they talked about the many coincidences on the international agenda, on issues such as promotion of democracy, prioritization of dialogue in conflict resolution, environment, artificial intelligence, among others.
Pope Francis reiterated his constant prayers for the well-being of the Peruvian people, particularly for the most disadvantaged.
Furthermore, he highlighted the role that the Catholic Church plays in fulfilling said objective.
The Supreme Pontiff also expressed hope that the management of the new Peruvian Ambassador in the Vatican will contribute to continuing to strengthen the historic ties of friendship and cooperation between Peru and the Holy See.
