On October 14, 2014, neither the persistent rain nor fog prevented legendary Rolling Stones' leader Mick Jagger and his family from touring around the Machu Picchu Inca fortress which truly amazed them.
A group of tourists, who got in line to access the Sanctuary at 06:00 A.M. on that day, recognized him and felt excited to be standing next to the star at that certain time.
The Satisfaction singer toured around Las Canteras, Tres Ventanas, El Torreon, Plaza Menor and Intihuatana sectors, where he stayed for 15 minutes.
His son Lucas felt excited during the walk and appreciated the Inca fortress architectural style, while L'Wren Scott took the photographs.
Once the tour finished, Jagger and his family returned to the Inkaterra Hotel, also known as Aguas Calientes, located in the Machu Picchu district.
His presence led to a strong police and private security deployment with the aim of protecting the performer from a large group of journalists, who tried to snap pictures and obtain some remarks from the international artist.
Prior to his Cusco visit, he stayed three days in Madre de Dios, where he was named distinguished guest, tourism ambassador and environmentalist.
Next year, the Rolling Stones will arrive in Lima for a concert to be considered "historical," it was announced on Tuesday.
Specific details will be disclosed by the promoter on Thursday.
