U15 girls claimed gold at the South American volleyball championship as they defeated Argentina 3-0 at Chosica’s coliseum in Peru.
Peruvians won the three sets by scores of 25-21, 30-28 and 25-21.
All three sets were tight and, in the last two, the Peruvian team had leads of up to five points.
The second one was heart-stopping: Argentina had taken a 19-23 lead, but Peruvians battled back to regain it at 30-28.
Last Saturday, Peru defeated Chile two sets to zero. This victory had secured them a spot in the gold medal match against Argentina at Carmela Estrella coliseum in Chosica.
