The 2021 presidential runoff election has just begun overseas with the participation of Peruvian citizens residing in Wellington and Auckland (New Zealand).

This occurs due to the time difference with the Oceania country (17 hours).

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the nations hosting most Peruvians authorized to vote overseas are the following:

- United States (1,044 voting tables for 309,602 citizens).

- Spain (514 voting tables for 152,212 citizens).

- Argentina (480 voting tables for 143,189 citizens).

- Chile (392 voting tables for 117,140 citizens).

- Italy (321 voting tables for 94,590 citizens).

Both of them closed their campaigns last Thursday, after having participated in a debate in the city of Arequipa on May 30.

In Peru, polling places will be open from 07:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Voters have been requested to go to the polls in accordance with a staggered schedule aimed at avoiding COVID-19 contagion.
