For the first time, Peruvians abroad will be able to elect two representatives to Parliament, thanks to the creation of the electoral district "Peruvians Residing Abroad," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted on Sunday.

As is known, Peru will hold general elections on April 11, 2021. On the occasion, citizens will choose one president, two vice-presidents, 130 Congress members, and Andean Parliamentarians.

A total of 997,033 citizens residing abroad will participate in such process in 204 cities, 78 countries across five continents.

To that end, they shall cast their vote at 3,371 voting tables all over the world.

During the draw held on January 29 —in order to choose the polling station members— 20,580 compatriots living overseas were drawn to undertake such an important task.

It should be pointed out that the countries with the greatest number of electors are the United States (309,602 voters and 1,044 voting tables), followed by Spain (152,212 voters and 514 voting tables), and Argentina (143,189 voters and 480 voting tables).

Additionally, other nations include Chile (143,189 voters and 392 voting tables), Italy (94,590 voters and 321 voting tables), and Japan (34,076 voters and 119 voting tables).
