Peruvian sprinter Andy Martinez was recognized as "The Best Athlete at Uruguay's Grand Prix," where he obtained the gold medals at the 100- and 200-meter races.
The Peruvian representative finished first at the 200-meter race (21.38 seconds). He was followed by Argentinean Jorge Caracasis (22.39) and Uruguayan Falcon Fagundez (22.39).
Andy Martinez will continue training, to finish the next race in the shortest time possible (10.20 seconds). This would allow him to obtain his pass for the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games.
He will participate in the Lima's South American Grand Prix and Toronto's 2015 Pan American Games.
At the 100-meter race, Martinez managed to set a national record (10.30 seconds) in 2014.
