Peruvian President requests citizens to support National Police efforts

President of the Republic of Peru Ollanta Humala requested the country to value efforts by the National Police of Peru (PNP) addressed to guarantee public safety and fight criminality.

In his speech delivered during the institution's Officers graduation ceremony, Peru's Head of State said mistakes are made by people. Thus, the institution "cannot be involved" in such actions.

"We need to give provide stability and build citizens' trust in the Peruvian National Police [...]. We cannot overlook its efforts," he expressed.

Mr. Humala was joined by Peru's Interior Minister Jose Luis Perez Guadalupe.

The said "PNP Sub-lieutenant Henry Manuel Rojas Mori" class is composed of 249 members. 149 sub-lieutenants have specialized in the field of public order, whereas the remaining 100 in criminal investigation.

Sword of Honor was granted to PNP Sub-lieutenant Jose Luis Treviño Canto.
