Peruvian FA Min's participation at world meeting on security begins

Peru's Foreign Affairs Minister Javier Gonzalez-Olaechea met with Munich Security Conference (MSC) Chairman Christoph Heusgen, it was reported on Friday.

The Peruvian government official is in the southern German city participating in the aforementioned event, considered the world's main meeting on security.

Via social media, Minister Gonzalez-Olaechea thanked Chairman Heusgen for the invitation he had sent him to participate in the MSC.

"I thanked him (Dr. Heusgen) for his deference because, I understand, it is the first time that Peru has been invited to this representative forum to debate and contribute on international security," the Peruvian dignitary expressed.


Tasks to fulfill

The Peruvian Cabinet member will be a panelist at the session in which the United Nations Security Council reform will be addressed.

Likewise, Minister Gonzalez-Olaechea will hold meetings with authorities from European, North American, and Asian countries, including his peers who are attending the aforementioned event.

Within this framework, Minister Gonzalez-Olaechea met with his Indian counterpart, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.


At this gathering, both dignitaries talked about the possibility of the Asian country promoting public and private cooperation in governance and artificial intelligence, benefiting Peru.

Similarly, the Peruvian official invited his Indian counterpart to evaluate the possibility of establishing a techno-artificial park in Peru.


He also reaffirmed the equal conditions that foreign and domestic investments receive in the South American country.
