The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte held a meeting with her counterpart from the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, in San Francisco on Thursday.

This gathering was part of the official activities fulfilled by the Head of State within the framework of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders' Week currently underway in the United States.

At this meeting, the Peruvian top official thanked her peer for the support provided by the People's Republic of China for Peru to hold the APEC Presidency in 2024.

Likewise, Mrs. Boluarte asked her Chinese counterpart for support on the issue of health control in order to expedite the entry of certain Peruvian products into the Asian country.

The dialogue also addressed bilateral consultations aimed at optimizing the implementation of the bilateral Free Trade Agreement signed in 2009.

As is known, the Asian nation is Peru's main trading partner.
