Peruvian, Brazilian FA Ministers address Amazon cooperation

Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Javier Gonzalez-Olaechea and Brazilian counterpart Mauro Vieira held a working meeting at which they discussed various multilateral topics, including Amazonian cooperation and the strengthening of the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (ACTO).

The Peruvian Cabinet member participates in the VIII Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).

Within this framework, Ministers Gonzalez-Olaechea and Vieira exchanged opinions on multilateral issues, such as the United Nations Security Council reform and the UNM3 reform proposal presented by Peru at the Munich Security Conference (MSC) held last February.


Likewise, both high-ranking officials discussed Amazon cooperation and the strengthening of ACTO, initiatives within the framework of the Brasilia Consensus and the Resolute Action Plan (PAR) to fight transnational organized crime.

As part of his activities, the Peruvian Cabinet member also participated in the official photo session at the VIII CELAC Summit, which he attended on behalf of President Dina Boluarte.
