Peruvian boxer becomes World Champion

On Saturday night, Peruvian boxer Carlos Zambrano claimed victory and became the World Boxing Association’s Featherweight Champion by beating Dominican Daniel Ramirez.
The judges decided "Mina" Zambrano had the best performance.

The score was: 118-111; 116-113; 116-112 favoring the Peruvian.

The decision enabled the athlete to reach the category's title for the first time.

The fight took place at the Lima Plaza Norte mall.

Zambrano thanked the family and dedicated the triumph to his home town, Chincha (Ica region).
