The Vice-President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Thursday afternoon asked the Congress of the Republic to put aside disagreements with the Executive Branch and work together for the sake of the country and the Peruvian people.

"Borrowing the words of the President (Pedro Castillo), I would like to tell Congress that we should stop looking one another as 'two fighting bulls' (...)," Mrs. Boluarte said.

"Let us put aside our disagreements and work for the good of our beloved country," the high-ranking official added.

Her remarks came during the delivery of food through the national school feeding program "Qali Warma" to the Municipality of El Porvenir in the northern city of Trujillo.

Mrs. Boluarte —who also serves as Minister of Development and Social Inclusion— noted that the Executive Branch should issue a mea culpa on some mistakes made by the Government, such as the appointment of some ministers.

"The President is very willing to correct mistakes and he is doing so; governance conditions will surely improve along the way," she added.

Regarding the constitutional complaint filed before Congress against her, Mrs. Boluarte stated that she is awaiting notification by the Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations so that she can render her statements.

"The only thing I want to say is that I have done absolutely nothing wrong, and I have not disobeyed the Constitution (…)," she remarked.
