10:27 | Lima, Jan. 8.

Peru's trade balance recorded a US$763 million surplus in November 2020, up by US$46 million over the same month in 2019, thus accumulating a positive result of US$6.303 billion between January and November, the Central Reserve Bank (BCR) reported on Friday.

According to the issuing entity, exports in November amounted to US$4.064 billion —a 2.4% rise from the same month the year before due to higher export prices of traditional goods.

The BCR stated that, in said period, traditional exports saw a 0.1% growth, while non-traditional shipments grew 7.4%; the latter were favored by greater shipped volumes.

On the other hand, imports totaled US$3.301 billion in November —1.5% higher than the same month in 2019 due to increased purchases of consumer goods and inputs.

The Central Reserve Bank of Peru reported that, as of November 2020, the trade surplus accumulated in the last 12 months amounted to US$7.465 billion, a similar amount compared to the previous month.
