Peru's National Symphony Orchestra (OSN) is marking its 75th anniversary with a special concert along with the outstanding American violinist Shlomo Mintz at the Grand National Theater in Lima.
The choice of works for the celebratory concert will feature Igor Stravinsky's The Consecration of Spring.

The musical programme will include "Overture for a comedy" of Enrique Iturriaga, Peruvian composer who wrote this piece for a version of the literary work written by Manuel Ascencio Segura 'Ña Catita'.

The presentation will continue with the Concerto for Violin by Jean Sibelius, which will have on stage as guest violin soloist to the world renowned violinist Shlomo Mintz.

The OSN performed its first concert on December 11, 1938, at the Municipal Theater of the Peruvian capital Lima on the occasion of the 8th Pan American Conference. 

The 75th Anniversary Concert will be held on Wednesday, December 11th at 7.30pm at Lima's Grand National Theater. Tickets can be purchased at the Teleticket booths in Wong and Metro supermarkets.
