Peru's Servir: Postgraduate studies abroad revive transformative spirit within State

19:29 | Lima, Oct. 14.

Peruvian public officials who undertake postgraduate studies abroad —thanks to the financing of Servir's Excellence Challenge Program— can improve their professional competence and revive their transformative spirit within the State.

The remarks were made on Monday by Education Ministry's (Minedu) official Angela Bravo, who completed a Master's degree in Education, Public Policy and Equity at the University of Glasgow in the United Kingdom.

"This great experience has allowed me to meet public officials from other countries and realize they face the same challenges we do (…)," she expressed.

In this sense, the professional acknowledged that public management is not only complex but also extremely challenging. However, she said it is worth it, as it changes lives across the country.

"Working four years and a half at the public sector can be frustrating because changes do not occur at the desired speed. The process is difficult, but trainings like these allow me to learn from other countries and to see how they've managed to improve," she added.

Her statements came during the "1st National Meeting of Excellence Challenge Program Recipients: Agents of Change for Public Administration, towards the Bicentennial," held in Miraflores district.
