Peru's Sandoval ends fourth at Rio 2016 Paralympics

Peruvian athlete Luis Sandoval ended fourth in men's 1500m (T11 category) at Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

Despite the fact that Sandoval did not qualify for the next round, he improved his personal mark (4:28.41).

Led by his guide John Cusi, the runner participated in the category reuniting blind sportsmen.

Race was won by Kenyan Wilson Hill (4:13:20), who earned a ticket to the event's finals.

It must be noted the national squad is composed of: Israel Hilario (cycling), Efrain Sotacuro, Carlos Felipa, Jose Casas, and Yeny Vargas (athletics).

Rio 2016 Paralympics features disabled athletes from 161 countries on September 7-18.

Sandoval's achievement was highlighted by Peruvian Education Minister Jaime Saavedra.
