Peru's Regional and Municipal Elections: Meet 26 candidates for Lima Mayor

A total of 26 political organizations are competing for mayor of Metropolitan Lima in the 2026 Regional and Municipal Elections (ERM), which will be held on October 4.

This list of candidates reflects the electoral landscape following the September 5 deadline for the registration of the participating political organizations.

Andina News Agency, through the Ánfora 2026 (Amphora) program on its online channel, will interview candidates for mayor of Metropolitan Lima so that voters can learn about their proposals on urgent issues such as public safety, public transportation, cleanliness, urban beautification, and environmental management, as well as a topic of their choice that is of interest to the public.

More than 26 million voters will participate in the 2026 Regional and Municipal Elections on Sunday, October 4.

Citizens will go to the polls to elect a total of 13,148 regional and municipal authorities, according to the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE).

Additionally, as part of the process, the National Elections Board (JNE) has scheduled 25 electoral debates in the capitals of the country's regions.

The debates will take place from September 8 to 19, while the dates set for Metropolitan Lima are September 21 and 22.

These activities will be broadcast live on free-to-air television in each region.

Citizens can consult information on government plans, profiles of candidates, and electoral lists through the JNE's Voto Informado (Informed Vote) platform.
