The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Tuesday said she hopes the march called for July 19 will take place within the constitutional framework and be peaceful, without generating neither violence nor anarchism in the country.

"We tell you that tomorrow, as has been said, a number of our compatriots have been summoned to a demonstration, and we, all Peruvians who love the homeland, hope it will take place within the constitutional framework; a peaceful march without generating violence, chaos, crisis, or attempting to cause anarchism in the country," Mrs. Boluarte expressed.

During a press conference, the Head of State specified that since the beginning of her administration, all Peruvians have been witnessing that the Executive Branch was dedicated to solving the problems which affect the country, such as (the lack of) access to drinking water, among other historically unsolved issues.

The top official specified that her administration is committed to economic reactivation, as well as to drawing greater investment, because "needs will be able to be met" with it.

Invitation to dialogue

Likewise, the president requested the leaders who organize those marches scheduled for tomorrow to dialogue with the Executive Branch.

"We invite those who are leading these demonstrations to come and talk with us, to see if we can find a platform for social action from their platform (…), but if they are only looking for pretexts for a political agenda, I tell the brothers not to be taken advantage of, not to be fooled," she expressed.

In this sense, the Head of State urged those who propose a political agenda to save it until the next elections —a time when those ideas can be debated.

Call for unity

Moreover, the president called on the population to stand united, as well as requested the offices of the Prosecutor, the Ombudsman, and the State Attorney to accompany the marches with the aim of guaranteeing that they are peaceful.

"As constitutional president, I call on you to unite in one heart and, in that unity, let us all work together for the development of our country, to meet to the needs of our brothers who are in the vulnerable segment," Mrs. Boluarte stated.

"I call for the broadest unity of all Peruvians, of all bloods, (...) all of us united, disunited we all lose," she added.

Today's event took place at the Government Palace in the Peruvian capital, Lima.
