Peru's President visits Moquegua to provide COVID-19 vaccines and medical oxygen

President Francisco Sagasti on Tuesday morning arrived in the Peruvian port city of Ilo, where he is scheduled to participate in the provision of COVID-19 vaccine doses to healthcare workers and in a daily donation of 20 tons of medical oxygen to supply hospitals and health facilities.

The Head of State was joined by Health Minister Oscar Ugarte as well as Energy and Mines Minister Jaime Galvez.

Moquegua is one of the 12 regions that last Thursday received a load of COVID-19 vaccines as part of the second batch sent by China's laboratory Sinopharm.

According to the National Center for Supply of Strategic Resources in Health (Cenares) of the Ministry of Health, 62,910 doses were sent to Moquegua, Tacna, Ayacucho, Cusco, Arequipa, La Libertad, Ica, San Martin, Puno, Lambayeque, and Ucayali that day.
