Peru's President visits Contingency Hospital in Moquegua region

Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra on Sunday arrived in Moquegua to supervise the Contingency Hospital in said region and verify that adequate care is provided to patients with COVID-19.

The aim is to have ICU beds and 100 hospital beds with oxygen supply for the care of insured and uninsured patients.

"In this pandemic situation, there is no difference between the Ministry of Health (Minsa), the Social Health Insurance System (EsSalud), and the Regional Health Management Office (Geresa). We are on the same team," the statesman said during his visit.

The Head of State was accompanied by Defense Minister Jorge Chavez and EsSalud Executive-President Fiorella Molinelli.

For his part, Minister Chavez supervised the delivery of 2.5 tons of medicines and personal protective equipment to the Moquegua Regional Hospital.
