The President of the Republic, Keiko Fujimori, on Monday called on the newly-elected authorities in the 2026 Regional and Municipal Elections to work "hand in hand and as one great team."
"Yesterday, we held the Regional and Municipal Elections. It was an important day for the country because mayors and future regional governors also help provide better services to citizens," Fujimori stated.
"To the future authorities, I say from now on that we will work hand in hand. I will not look at political affiliations; rather, we, the three levels of government, have an obligation to work as one great team," she noted.
In this regard, the Head of State said that, knowing the country's path and direction, she is "convinced that nothing can stop us and that we will move forward."
The President noted that the delivery of 326 title deeds in San Juan de Lurigancho is important, as many of the beneficiary families had been waiting for this measure for 26 years.
"A title deed that some may see as just a piece of paper or cardboard, but for the families who receive it, it provides certainty and guarantees that the place where they live belongs to them," Fujimori said.
"It is a guarantee for the future; that is why today's ceremony is important. It is a simple event filled with emotion," she added.
At another point, the President referred to the existence of audio recordings containing threats against her.
The Head of State said that these "will not make her back down" in her work at the helm of the Government, adding that she had previously faced attacks and persecution.
"I have not backed down, and I certainly will not do so now. Instead, we will continue working," Fujimori said.
Finally, the President explained that her administration has a long way to go in delivering title deeds, noting that 45,000 will be issued this year.
Moreover, she indicated that one million will be granted in the coming years through 2031.
