The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Monday affirmed that addressing constitutional reforms does not mean driving away investments, noting that there are businesspeople committed to the Government and the nation.

From Jaen province, the Head of State said there are great businesspeople, who have emerged from the bottom, are honest, do not ask for anything in return, and want to invest in Peru.

The top official argued that Peruvians deem as necessary implementing major constitutional reforms —an issue that is in the hands of Congress.

Fight against crime

On the other hand, the President announced that he will meet with the Ministers of Interior, Justice, and Defense on Tuesday morning to guide the fight against crime.

"We cannot have families in distress," the Head of State emphasized after calling on rondas campesinas (farming community patrols), grassroots organizations, and neighborhood councils to join the task.

"It is important to make a firm decision in the fight against crime," he pointed out.

Before the population of Jaen, Mr. Castillo ratified his commitment to said province and the country.
