The President of the Republic Francisco Sagasti on Thursday afternoon oversaw refurbished rooms at Dos de Mayo Hospital in Lima.

During his working visit, the Head of State was accompanied by Health Minister Oscar Ugarte.

The top official explained that the refurbishment included the modernization of a surgical center, which will lead to doubling operations at the aforementioned healthcare facility.

To that end, the Ministry of Health (Minsa) invested S/19 million (about US$5.24 million).

At Dos de Mayo Hospital, the President participated in the delivery of 90 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) kits for Minsa healthcare facilities.

Of the 90 kits, 20 will remain in said establishment and the rest will be distributed to hospitals in Lima such as: Villa El Salvador, Cayetano Heredia, Hipolito Unanue, Sergio Bernales, and Casimiro Ulloa, among others.

In recent weeks, 109 ICU kits have been delivered to hospitals.
