Peru's President: Second Agrarian Reform marks a new era

The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Sunday said that the Second Agrarian Reform marks a new era for the country, as the Government is at the service of small-scale farmers.

In a statement posted on Twitter, the Head of State noted that farmers will occupy the place that they should have always occupied in Peru.

"Sisters and brothers of the land. The Second Agrarian Reform marks a new era. We have put an end to the neglect you experienced," he wrote.

"Starting today, the Government is again at the service of small-scale farmers of our country. Today, you occupy the place that you should have always occupied," reads the tweet. 

Precisely today (October 3), the top official led the launch of the Second Agrarian Reform in Cusco region, which will promote connectivity and technology among farmers.

The Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri) stated that the Second Agrarian Reform has marked the birth of a participatory process that will provide opportunities for more than 2 million Peruvians and will highlight the importance of the country's production.
