The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Saturday affirmed that political interests or pettiness will not make him go backwards in his efforts to consolidate the public works needed by vulnerable Peruvians.

From Pampachiri in Apurimac region, the Head of State indicated that his presence in said area was part of the commitment made to the people to meet openly, "not clandestinely to plot against the popular will."

"Fellow citizens, the popular will means being able to crystallize the dreams of our brother farmers; they (opponents) will not make me go backwards due to political whims, pettiness, and interests of certain politicians and groups that want to turn their backs on the Peruvian people," he expressed.

Mr. Castillo indicated that State ministers assumed a serious commitment to the people in order to move various public works forward.

On the other hand, the President urged the recently-elected regional and local authorities and the people to join efforts so as to obtain the necessary technical studies aimed at developing public works for the population.

He also announced that the Agrarian Development and Irrigation Ministry's doors will be open to the people, adding that the sector's new head, Juan Altamirano, has the political will to work for the them.
