Peru's President meets with IACHR mission, reiterates support for its work

The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Wednesday met with members of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), who are on an observation visit to Peru due to social protests in recent weeks.

At the meeting, held at the Government Palace, the Head of State reiterated the Government's support for the fulfillment of the IACHR's work.

Likewise, the dignitary reaffirmed her commitment to continue promoting dialogue and social peace in Peru.

During the meeting, the country's top official was accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Ana Cecilia Gervasi and Justice-Human Rights Minister Jose Tello.


The IACHR's visit takes place from January 11 to 13 and aims to monitor the human rights situation in the context of social protests. The delegation plans to visit Lima and other cities across the country.



The Commission will meet with public authorities, civil society organizations, and other relevant actors.

As a result of the visit, in the exercise of its functions, the IACHR plans to publish its observations, conclusions, and recommendations to the Peruvian State.
