Peru's President leads second Council of State session

Peruvian President Francisco Sagasti on Monday morning chaired the second session of the Council of State under his leadership.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez, Congress Chairwoman Mirtha Vasquez, and Judiciary Chair Jose Luis Lecaros.

Attorney General Zoraida Avalos, Ombudsman Walter Gutierrez, and Comptroller General Nelson Shack also participated in this session.

Also on Monday, President Francisco Sagasti proposed to create a multilateral fund to subsidize insurance to support countries' efforts in their negotiations to access the COVID-19 vaccine.

The proposal was submitted to the Member States of the Forum for the Progress of South America (Prosur).
