The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo arrived in the city of Bogota this morning to participate in the Presidential Meeting and 6th Binational Cabinet, to be held in the city of Villa de Leyva (Boyaca region).

Upon arrival, the Peruvian Head of State was welcomed by Colombian counterpart Ivan Duque, with whom he will lead the aforementioned event.

The Peruvian top official was joined by First Lady Lilia Paredes and State ministers.

On this occasion, President Duque called for continuing to build projects of common benefit for both countries, as well as to strengthen the historical and fraternal relations between both nations.

Binational Cabinets constitute a space for political-diplomatic coordination at the highest level in which presidents, as well as State ministers and officials from various sectors, participate.

These meetings are held annually and alternately in each country, although they were temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The last cabinet with Colombia was held in August 2019.
