Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra on Saturday highlighted the simultaneous start of two activities with high social impact: The payment of the Universal Family Bonus worth S/760 (US$223) and the National Vaccination Campaign.

The Head of State affirmed that the plan is to recover the time in which the country was under lockdown to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

"The idea is to recover time to immunize children, young people, pregnant women, and the elderly due to the pandemic. As we were not allowed to go out, many people failed to get vaccinated at the right time," he said.

Regarding the second Universal Family Bonus, those who have a bank account —that is, 4,200,000 people or half of the beneficiaries— will receive the payment starting today.

On the matter, he explained that the beneficiaries who have a bank account and whose ID number ends with zero have already received the deposit.

The President insisted that it is not necessary to visit a banking institution to find out if one is a beneficiary of this subsidy, instead, he urged the population to visit the Universal Family Bonus website or call 1811 for details.

Likewise, he reported that information booths have been set up in different parts of the city to provide answers to queries about this financial grant.

Remarks were made on Saturday as he supervised —along with Prime Minister Walter Martos— an authorized information stand located at Fe y Alegria School in Lima's peripheral Villa El Salvador district.
