on Sunday morning assured citizens that his administration Government will seek to work in a cohesive manner with the authorities who will be elected at the 2022 Regional and Municipal Elections held today nationwide.
Similarly, the top official thanked the outgoing mayors and regional governors for their work during times of COVID-19 and requested them to work until the last day in office.
Besides, the President called for prudence, responsibility, and respect to prevail following the results that will emerge from the polls.
"We are here to unite the three levels of government (national, regional, and local), to form a single front and close gaps," Mr. Castillo expressed.
Furthermore, the top official said he hopes to form a national front with them so as to combat corruption.
"The people need their authorities," he affirmed.
The President also greeted the electoral institutions, the National Police of Peru, the Armed Forces, the farming community patrol, and defense fronts for their efforts so that citizens come to vote with peace of mind.
More than 24 million Peruvians are eligible
to elect 13,032 authorities in 25 regions, 196 provincial municipalities, and 1,694 district municipalities throughout the country.
