The President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, on Wednesday announced that her administration aims to expand the coverage of labor competency certification nationwide, with the goal of improving employability levels of Peruvians who are unable to certify their skills for various jobs.

This statement was made during the launch of the Work Plan for the National Strategy to Promote the Certification of Labor Competencies by 2025, a ceremony held at the Government Palace in Lima.

"There is one goal: to increase the coverage of labor competency certification across the national territory and thereby improve employability levels. We want to reach more Peruvians, especially those who are employed but have not been able to certify their skills," she said.

Similarly, the President specified that with the implementation of this national strategy, the aim is to have authorized certification centers in every region, projecting to reach 54,932 certified compatriots this year, reaching a cumulative total of 113,064 certified people nationwide.

"This is not just a number because each certified person represents a story. Certifying competencies is not only an administrative act, but an act of justice, inclusion, and recognition," she added.

The top official also explained that, as a State, recognition and support must be given to these workers, which "an important and necessary task" lies ahead.

"We do this thinking of the people who, once certifies, will have a better future, better personal and family development. This strategy gives us an important horizon, which is why the idea is to take this strategy to the most remote places of our homeland, to build a more inclusive country," she added.

The Head of State mentioned that there are many Peruvians who possess knowledge acquired throughout their lives, but who cannot formally accredit it, such as bakers, plumbers, electricians, among others.

Moreover, she assured that through this national strategy, the coverage of certification will be expanded, placing emphasis on the productive sectors, and with the active participation of various ministries.
